In exercise of the powers conferred by section 87 of the Information Technology Act, 2000\n(21 of 2000), the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the\nInformation Technology (Certifying Authorities) Rules, 2000, namely\n1. These rules may be called the Information Technology (Certifying Authorities) (Amendment)\nRules, 2003.\n2. They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.\n2. In the Information Technology (Certifying Authorities) Rules, 2000\n(a)\n1. for the words \"submit a performance bond or furnish a banker's guarantee\", Wherever they\noccur, the words \"furnish a performance bond in the form of a banker's guarantee\" shall be\nsubstituted.\n2. for the words \"performance bond of banker's guarantee\" wherever they occur, the words\n\"performance bond in the form of banker's guarantee\" shall be substituted.\n(b) in rule 8, in sub-rule (2)-\n1. for the words \"five crores\", the words \"fifty lakhs\" shall be substituted.\n2. in the proviso, for the words \"ten crores\", the words \"one crore\" shall be substituted.\n(c) in rule 14, in sub-rule (2), for the words \"performance bond submitted or the banker's\nguarantee furnished\", the words \"performance bond in the form of banker's guarantee\nfurnished\" shall be substituted\nd) in Schedule I, in serial number 33, for the words \"Bank Guarantee/Performance Bond\", the\nwords \"performance bond in the form of banker's guarantee\" shall be substituted.\n(S.
