(1) The Prisons Act, 1894 and the Prisoners Act, 1900 along with the amendments made therein in their application to the State of Assam, and the Good Conduct Prisoners' Probational Release Act, 1938 are hereby repealed. Ind? Central Act 9 of 1894; Central Act 3 of 1900; Assam Act 2 of 1938 (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, any rule or appointment made, order or direction issued, action taken or anything done prior to such repeal under any of the Acts so repealed shall, in so far as it is consistent with this Act, be deemed to have been made, Issued, taken or done under the corresponding provisions of this Act, and shall continue to have effect accordingly unless and until superseded by any rule or appointment made, order or direction issued, action taken or anything done under this Act. - (3) All references in any enactment to any of the provisions of the Acts so repealed shall be construed as references to the corresponding provisions of this Act.
