Amendment of section 16 7. In section 16 of the Income-tax Act, in clause (i), with effect from the 1st day of April, 1994,— (a) in the opening portion, for the words "twelve thousand rupees", the words "fifteen thousand rupees" shall be substituted; (b) in the proviso, for the words "twelve thousand rupees" and "fifteen thousand rupees", the words "fifteen thousand rupees" and "eighteen thousand rupees" shall respectively be substituted.
