Amendment of section 143. 42. In section 143 of the Income-tax Act, in sub-section (3), for the words "determine the sum payable by him", the words "deter­mine the sum payable by him or refund of any amount due to him" shall be substituted with effect from the 1st day of October, 1998. © Copyright.
