Amendment of section 24. 8.  In section 24 of the Income-tax Act, with effect from the 1st day of April, 1999,— (a ) in sub-section (1), in clause (i), for the word "one-fifth", the word "one-fourth" shall be substituted; (b ) in the proviso to sub-section (2), for the word "fif­teen", the word "thirty" shall be substituted. © Copyright.
