Preamble

V/ 36 ASSAM ACT V OF 1936 THE ASSAM BIRTHS AND DEATHS REGISTRATION (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1936. [Published in the Assam Gazette of the 9th December, 1936.] An Act to amend the Assam Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1935 ( Act II of 1935). Preamble. WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Assam Aet II of Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1935 ; 1935. It is hereby enacted as follows :- Short title. 1. This Act may be called the Assam Births and Deaths Registration ( Amendment) Act, 1936 Amendment of 2. (i) In sections 2, 3, 5, 8 and 12 of the sections 2, 3, 4, Assam Births and Deaths Registration Act, 1935 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14 and 16. (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), for the words "Magistrate of the district " wher- ever they occur, the words "District Magistrate" shall be substituted. (ii) In sections 8 and 13 of the principal Act, for the word " Magistrate " the words " District Magistrate " shall be substituted. ogNunet Code (iii) In section 13 of the principal Act, the words " as if such place were a district" shall be deleted. (iv) For section 16 of the principal Act, the following shall be substituted :- The Magistrate may deputo subordinate Magistrate to discharge his functions. "The District Magistrate may depute any subordinate Magistrate, to exercise the powers and to perform the duties vested in him by this Act within the district or any part thereof ". (v) In sections 4, 6, 9, 10 and 14 of the princi- pal Act, for the word "district " wherever it occurs, the word " circle" shall be substituted. Price-English: 1d.] [Indian : anna 1. A. G. P. (Leg.)
