ASSAM GAZETTE, EXTRAORDINARY, FEB. 2, 2000 ASSAM ACT NO. XXI OF 1999 (Received the assent of the Governor on 12th December, 1999) THE ASSAM CONTINGENCY FUND (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1999 AN ACT further to amend the Assam Contingency Fund Act, 1950 Preamble Whereas it is expedient to amend the Assam Contingency Fund Act, 1950, here-in-after called the principal Act. It is hereby enacted in the Fiftieth Year of the Republic of India as follows :- Short title 1. (1) This Act may be called the Assam and Com- Contingency Fund (Amendment) Act, 1999. mencement (2) It shall come into force at once and shall remain valid upto 31st March, 2000. Amendment 2. In the principal Act, in section 3, the following proviso shall be added, namely :- of section 3 of Assam Act IX of 1950 viaCode "Provided that during the period of operation of the Assam Contingency Fund (Amendment) Act, 1999 a further sum of fifty crores of rupees shall be paid from and out of the Consolidated Fund of the State of Assam into the Contingency Fund." Repeal and 3. (1) The Assam Contingency Fund Assam Savings. (Amendment) Ordinance, 1999 is hereby repealed. Ordinance No.I of 1999 (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the Ordinance so repealed shall be deemed to have been done or taken under this Act as if this Act had commenced on the 28th July, 1999.
