Preamble

ASSAM ACT III OF 1952 THE ASSAM OPIUM PROHIBITION (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1952 . (Passed by the Assembly) (Received the assent of the Governor on the 11th April 1952) [Published in the Assam Gazette, dated the 23rd April 1952] An Act further to amend the Assam Opium Prohibition Act, 1947 Preamble. WHEREAS it is expedient to amend further the Assam Assam Act Opium Prohibition Act, 1947, hereinafter called the XXIII of "Principal Act" in the manner hereinafter appearing ; 1947. It is hereby enacted as follows :- Short title, extent and com- mencement. J. (1) This Act may be called the Assam Opium Prohibition (Amendment) Act, 1952. (2) It shall have the like extent as the Principal Act. (3) It shall come into force at once. 2. In sub-section (7) of Section 11 of the Principal Act, section after the words "For the purpose of this Section" the of words and figures "and section 16" shall be inserted.
