ASSAM ACT NO. XIV OF 1990 (Received the assent of the Governor on 23rd August, 1990) THE ASSAM SERICULTURE (SILK-WORM SEED, COCOON AND SILK YARN CONTROL) ACT, 1987 AN ACT Preamble. to provide for regulating and controlling the commercial production of silkworm seed and marketing of cocoon and silk-yarn. Whereas it is expedient to provide for regulating and controlling the commercial production of silkworm seed and marketing and distribution of the cocoon and silk-yarn with a view to increasing production and matters ancilliary thereto :- It is enacted in the Thirty-eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows :- Short title, extent and commencement.
