MA22/ HHT Preamble Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act, in its application to the State of Assam, in the manner hereinafter appearing; Central Act II of 1899. It is hereby enacted in the Sixty-fourth Year of the Republic of India as follows :- Short title, extent and commencement

Central Act II of 1899. It is hereby enacted in the Sixty-fourth Year of the Republic of India as follows :- Short title, extent and commencement 1. (1) This Act may be called the Indian Stamp (Assam Amendment) Act, 2013. (2) It extends to the whole of Assam. (3) It shall come into force at once. diaCode Amendment of Schedule-I 2. In the principal Act, in Schedule-I, for item No.23, the following shall be substituted, namely :- "23. Conveyance [as defined by section 2(10)] not being a Transfer, charged or exempted under No.62. Two percent of the market value of the property for such conveyance made in favour of women solely or jointly with others and three percent for others." MOHD. A.
