Be it enacted by the Legislature of Manipur in the Forty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows : 1. Short title and commencement .- (1) This Act may be called the Manipur Public Libraries (Amendment) Act, 1996. (2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, appoint. 2. Amendment of section 3 .- In clauses (a) and (b) of sub-section (2) of section 3 of the Manipur Public Libraries Act, 1988, for word "Education", the words "Arts and Culture" shall be substituted.
