further to amend the Punjab Technical University Act, 1996.
BE it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Punjab in the Sixty-second Year of the Republic of India, as follows:-
1. (1) This Act may be called the Punjab Technical University (Amendment) Act, 2011 (2)It shall come into force at once.
Short title and Commencement
2. In the Punjab Technical University Act, 1996 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in section 14, in sub-section (5),-
(a) in serial No. (6), at the end, the word "and" shall be omitted; and
(b) (in serial No. (7), at the end, for the sign ".", the sign and word ";and" shall be substituted, and thereafter the following serial No. and entries shall be inserted, namely :- "(7-A) Director of Indian Institution of Technology, Ropar.". Amendment in section 14 of Punjab Act 1 of
3. In the principal Act, in section 15, in sub-section (2), for serial
No. (6) and the entries relating thereto, the following serial No. an entries shall be substituted namely :- "(6)Twenty Principals of colleges affiliated to the University by rotation:
Provided that no Principal shall be re-nominated unless all the principals have been nominated atleast once;".
