No. 12821 NEW DELHI, FRIDAY, JULY 6, 2012/ASADHA 15, 1934 2486 Gl/2012 • (D MINISTRY iQF INFORMATION AND BROADCASTING (New :Delhi, the Sfh My, 2012 S.0.1521(E).— in exercise &f the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 22 of the' CaBfe Television Networks (Regulation) Act1; 1995 (7 of 1995), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Cable Television Networks Rules, 1994, namely:— 1.(1) These rules may be called the Cable Television Networks (Second Amendment) Rules, 2012.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Cable Television Networks Rules, 1994, (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), in rule 5A, after clause (b), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:- "(ba) such person shall furnish the information under rule 10A within the specified time;"
3. In the said rules, after rule 10, the following rule shall be inserted, namely:- "10A. Obligation to furnish information. — (1) Every Multi-System Operator and cable operator shall be bound to give such information as may be sought for by the Central Government or the State Government or any agency authorised by the Central Government or authorised officer, as the case may be, within such period and in such form as may be specified by such Government or agency or officer.
(2) The authorised signatory of the Multi-System Operator or cable operator providing the information sought for under sub-rule (1) shall also be required to affirm as to the correctness and truthfulness of the information so provided."
4. In the said rules, in rule 11D, after clause (b), the following ciause shall be nserted, namely:-
(ba) such person shali furnish the information under rule 10A within the specified time;" SUPRIYA SAHU, Jt. Secy.
