NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 12th June, 2000
S.O. 577(E).—Whereas the Central Government had framed the Scheme known as the Narmada Water Scheme, 1980 inter-alia constituting the Narmada Control Authority in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6-A of the Inter-State Water Disputes Act, 1956 (33 of 1956) vide the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Irrigation Number
SO. 770(E), dated the 10th September, 1980; And whereas, it is necessary to amend the said Scheme so as to include both the Secretary, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and the Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment as members of the Narmada Control Authority subsequent to the bifurcation of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment [i.e. the erstwhile Ministry of Welfare]; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6-A of the Inter-State Water Disputes Act, 1956, the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendment in the Narmada Water Scheme, 1980, namely:— In the said Scheme, the paragraph 2, in sub-paragraph (2), for sub-clause (iv) of clause (a), the following sub- clauses shall be substituted, namely :— " '(iv) Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. — Member (iv-a) Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Tribal Affairs. — Member'' Note :—The Narmada Water Scheme, 1980 was published in the Gazette of India vide number
S.O. 770(E) dated the 10th September, 1980 and subsequently amended vide notification number S.O. 3426 dated 7-12-90.
