May 23, 1963 Exemptions to shops dealing in furnishing, crockery, utensils etc, on ftre-—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of Section 3 of the Uttar Pardesh Dookan Aur Vanijya Adhishthan Adhiniyam, 1962 (U. P. Act No. XXVI of 1262), the Governor of Uttar Pradesh is pleased to exempt, in public inerest, all the shops and Coramercial establishments situated in Uttar Pradesh exclusively or mainly dealing in the business of supplying furnishings (which include furniture, shamiyanas and tents) crockery and utensils on hire required for marriage and other ceremonial occasions from the operation of sub-section (1) of Section 5 and sub-section
(1) of Section 8 of the said Adhiniyam subject to the following conditions : (:) No sale of any such article shall be effected and only hiring of the aforesaid articles on ceremonial occasions shal! be allowed.
(ii) The employees who are required to work beyond the prescribed hours of work shall be paid wages at twice the ordinary rate for every hour of such overtime work.
(iti) If any empoyee is required to work on a close day or a public holiday, whether for the whole day or part thereof, he shall be given a full holiday in lieu thereof within a week following such day.
