ADDENDUM TO NOTIFICATION

NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 10th June, 2020 th May, 2020 published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part-II, Section-3, Sub-section (ii) on 18 th May, 2020, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare issued a draft order to ban twenty seven insecticides as specified in the schedule to the said Notification. Whereas, the objections or suggestions were invited from any person in respect of the said draft Order before the expiry of the aforesaid period of forty-five days for consideration by the Central Government;

And Whereas, the Central Government has considered the representations received from various pesticide associations and companies for allowing manufacture of insecticides as specified in the schedule to the said notification for export purposes only, and for extension of period for submission of objection and suggestion from forty five days to ninety days; Now, Therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 27 read with section 28 and sub-section (1) of section 36 of the Insecticides Act, 1968 (46 of 1968) and in partial modifications of the said notifications to the extent specifically provided herein, the Central Government hereby makes the following order, namely:-

1. The period of forty five days to be substituted by a period of ninety days from the date of publication of

S.O. 1512(E) dated 14 th May 2020.

2. A proviso to sub-clause 1 of clause 2 will be added that “Any registrant who requires to manufacture insecticides as specified in the schedule to the said notification for export purpose only, shall obtain certificate of registration under rule 6 of the Insecticides Rules, 1971 and adhere to such conditions as may be prescribed by the Central Government from time to time.”

3. Other terms and conditions shall remain unchanged as per the aforesaid notification dated 14 th May, 2020.
