if he has been convicted of an offence involving moral turpitude, or

(d) if he has directly or indirectly any interest in any subsisting contract made with or in any work being done for, the Corporation except as a share-holder (other than a Director) in an incorporated company, provided that where he is a share-holder, he shall disclose to the State Government the nature and extent of the shares held by him in such company, or

(e) if he has any financial interest in any of the schemes undertaken by the Corporation for execution, or (c)

THE WEST BENGAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

Act XIV of 1955.

[Assent of the Governor was first published in the Calcutta Gazette, Extra- ordinary, of the 2nd August, 1956.] [2nd August, 1956.] An Act to amend the West Bengal Development Corporation Act, 1964.

WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the West Bengal Development Corporation Act, 1954, for the purposes and in the manner hereinafter appearing ;

It is hereby enacted in the Seventh Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows : —

1. This Act may be called the West Bengal Develop- Short title. ment Corporation (Amendment) Act, 1956.

2. After section 4 of the West Bengal Development Corporation Act, 1954 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), the following section shall be inserted, namely :

"Disqualifications 4A. A person shall be disqualified for membership. for being chosen as, and for being, a member of the Corporation—

(a) if he is a lunatic or a person of unsound mind, or

(b) if he has been adjudged insolvent, or Amend.

(f) if he is a member of Parliament or of any State Legislature.".

3. In sub-section (1) of section 22 of the said Act, for the words "for the purpose of raising its working capital" the words "for carrying out the purposes of this Act" shall be substituted.
