WEST BEN West Bengal Act II of 1948 THE WEST BENGAL LAND . (REQUISITION ACQUISITION) ACT, 1948. [Passed by the West Bengal Legislature.] [Assent of the Governor was first published in the Calcutta Gazette- .of the 11th March, 1948,] An Act to provide for the requisition and speedy acquisition of land for certain purposes. WHEREAS it is expedient to provide for the requisition and speedy acquisition of land for the purposes of main- taining supplies and services essential to the "life of the . community and for providing proper facilities for trans- port, communication, irrigation or drainage; - It is hereby enacted as follows :-
