WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the West Bengal Staff Selection Commission West Ben. Act XVII of 2011. Act, 2011, for the purposes and in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Seventy-third Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows :- Short title and commencement.

Act XVII of 2011. Act, 2011, for the purposes and in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Seventy-third Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows :- Short title and commencement. 1. (1) This Act may be called the West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (Amendment) Act, 2022. THE KOLKATA GAZETTE, EXTRAORDINARY, APRIL 17, 2023 [PART III The West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (Amendment) Act, 2022. (Sections 2, 3.) (2) It shall come into effect at once. Amendment of section 3 of West Ben. Act XVII of 2011. 2. In the West Bengal Staff Selection Commission Act, 2011 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), in section 3, for sub-section (2), the following sub-section shall be substituted :- "(2) The West Bengal Staff Selection Commission shall consist of a Chairperson and not more than six members.
The Chairperson shall be administrative Head of the Commission and shall have the powers of the Head of the Department.". Amendment of section 4. 3. In section 4 of the principal Act,- (1) for sub-section (2), the following sub-section shall be substituted :- "(2) The Chairperson and the members of the Commission shall hold office for a period of five years or till he attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.". (2) in sub-section (3), for the figures and word "62 years", the figures and word "65 years" shall be substituted. By order of the Governor, PRADIP KUMAR PANJA, Pr.
