Preamble

C GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL LEGISLATIVE DEPARTMENT West Bengal Act XIII of 1979 THE WEST BENGAL TOWN AND COUNTRY (PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT) ACT, 1979. [Passed by the West Bengal Legislature.] [Assent of the Governor was first published in the Calcutta Gazette, Extraordinary, of the 11th June, 1979.] [11th June, 1979.] An Act to provide for the planned development of rural and urban areas in West Bengal and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. WHEREAS it is expedient in the public interest to provide for the planned development of rural and urban areas in West Bengal and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto; It is hereby enacted in the Thirtieth Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows :--- CHAPTER I Preliminary.
