ASSAM ACT XXVI OF 1958 THE ASSAM BASIC EDUCATION (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1958 (Received the assent of the Governor on the 24th October 1958) (Passed by the Assembly) [Published in the Assam Gazette, dated the 29th October 1958] An Act further to amend the Assam Basic Education Act, 1954 Preamble .- Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam Basic Education Act, 1954 (Assam Act XXVI of 1954), hereinafter called the Principal Act. in the manner hereinafter appearing ; It is hereby enacted in the ninth year of the Republic of India as follows :-
