Section 6 of the Assam Basic Education (Amendment) Act, 1958 deals with amendment of Section 20 (1) of Assam Act XXVI of 1954. The following explanation shall be added to sub-section (1) of Section 20.

The following explanation shall be added to sub-section (1) of Section 20. "Explanation .- In the case of a reconstituted School Board the term of five years shall commence from the date of publication of the notification of the names of the members in the official Gazette". [ Price .06 nP. or 1d.]
