Section 291
Section 291 of the Assam Municipal Corporation Act, 2022. The Medical and Health Officer shall be the Chief Registrar of births and deaths occurring in the Municipal Corporation area, subject to the provisions of the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969.
(1) The Medical and Health Officer shall be the Chief Registrar of births and deaths occurring in the Municipal Corporation area, subject to the provisions of the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969. Central Act 18 of 1969.
(2) The Commissioner shall, for the purposes of this chapter, appoint such number of persons to be Registrars of births and deaths as he deems necessary and shall define the respective areas which shall be under the charge of such Registrars. Duties of Registrars.
