Repeal and savings
Section 59 of the Bihar Lokayukta Act, 2011 deals with repeal and savings. The Bihar Lokayukta Act, 1973 and the amendments made in it from time to time is hereby repealed.
(1) The Bihar Lokayukta Act, 1973 and the amendments made in it from time to time is hereby repealed.
(2) Notwithstanding such repeal anything done or any action taken in exercise of the powers conferred by or under the said Bihar Lokayukta Act, 1973 shall be deemed to have been done or taken in the exercise of powers conferred by or under this Act as if this Act were in force on the day on which such thing was done or action taken. THE FIRST SCHEDULE [See Section 3(5)] 1, having been appointed Chairperson / Member* of the Lokayukta do swear in the name of God / solemnly affirm that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India as by law established and I will duly and faithfully and to the best of my ability, knowledge and judgement perform the duties of my office without fear or favour, affection or ill-will.
