Academic Council

Section 24 of the Bikaner Technical University Act, 2017 deals with academic Council. There shall be an Academic Council of the University, consisting of the following as members, namely:- (i) the Vice-Chancellor-ex-officio Chairperson; The Act came into force on 17 Apr 2017.

(1) There shall be an Academic Council of the University, consisting of the following as members, namely:- (i) the Vice-Chancellor-ex-officio Chairperson;

(ii) the Deans of Faculties;

(iii) one Professor from each Faculty to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor;

(iv) one Principal/ Director of a constituent college to be nominated by the ViceChancellor;

(v) the Secretary to the Government in-charge of Technical Education Department;

(vi) the Director, Technical Education;

(vii) the Chairpersons of Boards of Studies;

(viii) two Principals of affiliated Colleges, one from Government Colleges and another 20 years. from Private Colleges, to be nominated by the State Government;

(ix) two persons having special attainment in the field of the studies not being employees of the University, one to be nominated by the Chancellor and the other by the State Government;

(x) one teacher other than the Professors, from a constituent college or University Department having a minimum ten years experience in teaching degree or postgraduate classes to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor;

(xi) one teacher other than the Principals, from an affiliated college having a minimum ten years experience in teaching degree or postgraduate classes to be nominated by the State Government; and (xii) the Registrar of the University, MemberSecretary.

Explanation.- For the purpose of clause (v) of this sub-section expression “the Secretary to the Government in-charge” means the Secretary to the Government in-charge of the Department and includes an Additional Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary when he or she is in-charge of a Department.

(2) The term of office of nominated members shall be two (3) One third of the members of the Academic Council shall constitute the quorum for a meeting.
