Section 18 of the Calcutta Metropolitan Development Authority Act, 1970. Any land required by the Metropolitan Authority for carrying out its functions under this Act shall be deemed to be needed for a public purpose and such land may be acquired by the State Government in accordance with any law for the time being in force.
