Section 256 of the Cantonments Act, 2006 deals with maintenance of Roads. All roads in the civil area of a cantonment shall be maintained by the Board. The Act came into force on 18 Dec 2006.

(1) All roads in the civil area of a cantonment shall be maintained by the Board.
(2) All roads outside the civil area as have been vested in the Board shall also be maintained by the Board.
