A.— PRELIMINARY
Commencement of this Part
156. The provisions of this Part shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification* in the Official Gazette, appoint, and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Part and any reference in any provision to the commencement of this Part shall be construed as a reference to the coming into force of that provision.

†NOTIFICATION NO. SO 1696(E) [F.No.A.-50050/9/2016-Ad1C(CESTAT) Pt.I], dated 26-5-2017. —In exercise of the powers conferred by section 156 of the Finance Act, 2017 (7 of 2017), the Central Government hereby appoints the 26th day of May, 2017 as the date on which the provisions of the Part XIV of Chapter VI of the said Act shall come into force.
