Section 35 of the Jammu and Kashmir Development Act, 1970 deals with payment of betterment charge. The betterment charge levied under this Act shall be payable in such number of instalments and each instalment shall be payable at such time and in such manner as may be fixed by regulations made in this behalf. The Act came into force on 31 Oct 1970.

(2) Any arrears of betterment charge shall be recoverable as an arrear of land revenue.
