Section 28 of the Prisons Act, 1894 deals with association and segregation of prisoners. Subject to the requirements of the last foregoing section, convicted criminal prisoners may be confined either in association or individually in cells or partly in one way and partly in the other. The Act came into force on 07 Jan 1894.
