NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 5th March, 2010

G.S.R. 174(E).—Whereas the draft rules further to amend the Insecticides Rules, 1971 which the Central Government proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 36 of the Insecticides Act, 1968 (46 of 1968) in consultation with the Central Insecticides Board, were published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i) vide number or suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby, before the expiry of the period of forty-five days from the date on which the copies of the Gazette containing the said notification were made available to the public;

And whereas, the copies of the said Gazette notifications were made available to the public on the 17th December, 2009;

And whereas, no objection or suggestion was received from the public in respect of the said notification; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 36 of the Insecticides Act, 1968 (46 of 1968), the Central Government, after consultation with the Central Insecticides Board, hereby makes the following rules, further to amend the insecticides Rules, 1971, namely :-

1. (1) These rules may be called the Insecticides (Amendment) Rules, 2010.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Insecticides Rules, 1971, in rule 6,--

(a) in sub-rule (2), the words, "together with a bank draft, drawn in favour of the Accounts Officer, Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine & Storage, payable at Faridabad towards registration fee" shall be omitted;

(b) after sub-rule (3), the following sub-rule shall be inserted, namely :- "(3A) The registration fees may also be paid through debit or credit card using internet payment gateway services by logging on the website of Secretariat of Central Insecticides Board and Registration Committee."
