MINISTRY OF DEFENCE
New Delhi, the 11th January, 2002 S.R.O. 29.--In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-sections (1) and Clauses (b) and (c) of Sub-section (2) of Section 123 of the Coast Guard Act, 1978 (30 of 1978), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules to amend the Coast Guard (Conditions of Service) Rules, 1986, namely:--
1. (1) These rules may be called the Coast Guard (Conditions of Service) Amendment Rule,
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette
2. In the Coast Guard (Conditions of Service) Rules, 1986, in rule 4, sub-rule (1), the proviso shall be amended as under- For the words "Provided that the appointment or transfer of the officers of the rank of Deputy Inspector General, Inspector General …… substitute" Provided that the appointment or transfer of the officers of the rank of Inspector General. Foot Note: - The principal rules were published in the Gazette of India vide number SRO 20(E), dated the 12th November 1986.
