Both regimes are live. The repealed enactment still governs what happened while it was in force. We never redirect one to the other.

Court's Decision & Legal Precedent
Procedural irregularities and errors in government affidavits regarding chargesheet filing dates, while warranting judicial caution and criticism of the concerned officer, do not necessarily constitute sufficient grounds to quash an FIR if the substantive criminal charges remain valid and the chargesheet has been properly filed before the competent court. The appropriate remedy for challenging the chargesheet lies in the trial court proceedings rather than through writ petition for quashing the FIR.
