Short title, extent and commencement
Section 1 of the Insurance Act, 1938 deals with short title, extent and commencement. This Act may be called the Insurance Act, 1938. The Act came into force on 01 Jul 1939.
(1) This Act may be called the Insurance Act, 1938.
1[(2) It extends to the whole of India 2***.]
(3) It shall come into force on such date3 as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint in this behalf.
