G.S.R 214(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 9. read wth Sect~on 76 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (6 1 of 1985), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules M e r to amend the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Rules, 1985, namely - 1 (1) These rules may be called the Narcobc Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Amendment) Rules, 2002

(2) They shall come Into force on the date of their publicauon in the Offiaa! Gazette 2 In the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Rules, 1985,-

(1) m rule 65,-

(a) after sub-rule ( I ) , the following proviso shall be inserted, namely - "Prowded that the authority in charge of drug control in a State referred to above may issue a licence to manufacture a psychotropic substance specified in Schedule I11 for the purpose of export only",

(b) ~n sub-rule (3). in the second prowso, after the words and letter "Schedule I" appeanng at the end, the words and letters "and Schedule III", shall be inserted,

(11) m Schedule 1, under sub-heading I1 "Psychotropic Substances", item 8 and the entries relating thereto shall be omitted,
