(Department of Revenua) (Narcotics Control Bureau) New Delhi, the 10th August, 1993 S.O. 599 CE),- In exerciso of the powcrs conferred by section 9, road with section 76, of'the Narcotic Dmgs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (61 of 19851, the Central Government heraby makes the following rules to amand the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Rules, 1985, namely:-

1. (1) Thasa rules may be callad the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Amendment) Rules,

(2) They shall come into forco on the date of thoir publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In the Narootic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Rules, 1985,-

(i) after the existing rule 53 the following ruk shall be insertod, namely:- "53A (1) Subjeot to tho provisions of sub-rule (2), no porson shall export any of the naruotic drug or psyohotro- pic substance or proparation containing any of such narcotic drug or psychotropic substance specified in Schedule IV to tho countries dr to the region of such country specified therein.

(2) Notwithstanding anything contain4 in Sub-Rule (1) above, tho Narcotics Commissioner may authorl$e oxport of spcified quantities of such narcotic drug or psychotropic substance or preparation containing such mw- tia drug or psyahotropic substance on the basis of spacial import licence issued by the Competent Authority of the wuntry mentioned in Schodule IV which intends such imprt by way of issuance of spacial import licence. Tha shipment of the consignment so allowed shall ba accompanied by a copy of' such spacial import licence duly endorsnd by the Naruotios Commissioner";
